Detecting driver fatigue or distraction is only useful if the alert reaches the driver in time. The Driver Guard Hub is a prototype built for mining and transport fleets, strengthening in-cab alerts in noisy, high-risk environments.
That’s why we’ve been developing the Driver Guard Hub — a working prototype designed to extend the effectiveness of Digicore’s AI dash cameras through stronger, clearer in-cab alerts.
The Driver Guard Hub helps turn AI-detected risk into immediate, physical feedback, giving drivers the best chance to respond before an incident occurs.
What is the Driver Guard Hub?
The Driver Guard Hub is a prototype hardware system that works alongside Digicore AI cameras to support multi-channel driver alerts.
Depending on configuration, the Hub can enable:
• Louder audible alerts via the Digicore Amplified Speaker
• Seat vibration alerts using Digicore Pulse for drowsiness events
• Visual alert cues through in-cab or external lighting systems (for example, dash indicators or beacon lights)
These alert types can be combined to suit challenging environments where standard audio alerts alone may not be effective.
Why we built it?
The Driver Guard Hub was developed in response to direct customer feedback — particularly from mining operations — where vehicles are loud, drivers wear PPE, and conditions make alerts easy to miss.
We took those requests into the workshop and built a prototype that brings these alerting options together through a single unit, extending what our camera systems can already do.
Built for real-world sites
Many worksites don’t have reliable wireless connectivity. To support these environments, Ethernet connectivity is planned for V2 of the Driver Guard Hub, scheduled for late March.
This makes the Hub suitable for:
- Mining and quarry operations
- Civil and construction fleets
- Remote or regional sites
- Heavy vehicles operating in high-vibration conditions
Prototype Status and early access
The Driver Guard Hub is currently a prototype. It is functional, under active development, and being discussed with fleets that want to improve in-cab alert effectiveness and get more value from their AI camera systems.
We’re currently taking enquiries from customers interested in:
- pilot deployments
- trial installations
- providing feedback to help shape V2 features
