Australian industry doesn’t stay in Australia. Gold and nickel in Canada. Copper in Chile, Argentina, and Utah. Potash in Saskatchewan. Uranium in Kazakhstan. Iron ore across Brazil. Civil and energy infrastructure spanning Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa. When a project moves, your IVMS programme needs to move with it — without rebuilding from scratch on the other side.

That’s exactly what Digicore’s global IoT SIM connectivity delivers. Built on a non-steered roaming architecture, the SIM holds agreements with 600+ mobile network operators (MNOs) across 200+ countries and automatically connects to the strongest available carrier at each location. In Australia, that might be Telstra or Optus. In Chile, Entel or Movistar. In Kazakhstan, Beeline or Kcell. The SIM finds the best signal. No carrier lock-in. No manual intervention. No gaps in your data.

From copper mines in Chile and Argentina to gold programmes across Canada, uranium operations in Kazakhstan, and construction corridors throughout Brazil and Southeast Asia — wherever the project goes, your Digicore portal follows. One login. One platform. No surprises.

WHERE IT WORKS — COVERAGE ZONES

Coverage is organised into four zones. Most regions where Australian industry operates internationally sit comfortably within the strong-coverage tiers.

Europe
UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Nordics, Southern & Eastern Europe, and more — full continental coverage.
Global Select
Australia, NZ, PNG & Pacific Islands, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, North America. Strong coverage across key operating regions.
Global Extended
Latin America — broad footprint across South & Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean.Note: Validate operating footprint prior to deployment in this zone.
Rest of World
Currently limited to South Sudan. Contact Digicore to confirm coverage and discuss connectivity options before committing to deployment in this region.

RECOMMENDED DEVICES FOR GLOBAL DEPLOYMENT

Not every tracker is built for the real world. Digicore’s global connectivity is available across two hardware options — both purpose-built for environments where reliability, battery efficiency, and network flexibility aren’t optional. All devices ship pre-provisioned with an internal nano SIM. We configure everything before it leaves the country. In each NOMAD, live one of our brilliant asset trackers, to keep an eye out for your NOMAD Portable Pelican Case

Oyster Global — Global IVMS Asset Tracking for Non-Powered Equipment

The Oyster Global is our primary recommendation for international asset tracking. It runs on 4G Cat 1bis with automatic 2G fallback, covering all major global bands — including regions where 4G infrastructure is still catching up. Eight-plus years of battery life on three included AA lithium batteries at daily update rates. That’s not a marketing figure. That’s a device designed for long-duration deployments where swapping batteries every few months simply isn’t viable.

Location accuracy sits at approximately one metre CEP using concurrent GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS. A SAW filter and low-noise amplifier keep signal acquisition reliable in conditions where lesser devices give up. When GPS can’t get a fix, cell tower fallback keeps location data flowing. Onboard flash memory stores more than 29 days of continuous 30-second logging — so nothing is lost in a dead zone.

At 108 × 86 × 30mm and 120g, it’s compact enough to conceal and rugged enough to ignore. IP68-rated housing. No wiring. Installs in minutes using screws, cable ties, bolts, or rivets.

Manta Fusion — Advanced Global Asset Tracking for Complex Deployments

Some deployments need more than standard 4G. Where coverage is intermittent, power consumption is critical, or assets operate across indoor and outdoor environments, the Manta Fusion is the answer. It runs on LTE-M (Cat-M1) and NB-IoT — network technologies purpose-built for IoT devices, with better signal penetration in difficult environments and a fraction of the power draw of standard 4G.

It also adds passive Wi-Fi access point scanning via a dedicated Semtech LR1110 secondary module — the device never connects to Wi-Fi, it simply reads nearby access points and resolves location through Digital Matter’s cloud-based Location Engine. Add Bluetooth 5.2 for tagged asset and sensor monitoring, and you have a platform that tracks not just where an asset is, but what’s happening around it.

Battery life reaches 10+ years at daily update rates on three included AA lithium batteries — and four-plus years even at hourly updates. At 154 × 66 × 21mm and 170g, with IP68 housing and magnetic activation, it deploys as fast as the Oyster Global and performs considerably further beyond its comfort zone.

CONNECTIVITY PLANS – Choosing the Right Plan for Global IVMS Asset Tracking

Global SIM plans come in three data tiers. The right plan depends on your device type, reporting frequency, and data volume. Most standard asset tracking programmes sit comfortably within the 3MB or 5MB tier. We’ll tell you which one fits before you commit.

Camera-Equipped Vehicles — How Global IVMS Connectivity Works

Digicore’s global SIM handles tracking data. Camera-equipped vehicles — including those running the Digicore IVMS 2.0 Dashcam — need a separate SIM for video. That SIM is sourced locally from a cellular provider in your deployment region. It needs a 2GB or 3GB plan to carry the load of continuous dual-camera Full HD recording. This is the SIM the client manages in-region. It’s a deliberate separation — tracking infrastructure managed by Digicore, video connectivity managed locally where it belongs.

In areas where cellular coverage doesn’t reach, the IVMS 2.0 Dashcam’s built-in dual-band Wi-Fi connects to a Starlink terminal. Video data moves via satellite. We’ve deployed this combination in some of the most remote operating environments in Australia. It works the same way on an international mine site or infrastructure corridor.

Getting the camera SIM online is straightforward. Digicore provides a step-by-step APN provisioning guide — completed once per vehicle at installation using the RideView Companion App, available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. If anything doesn’t go to plan, our support team is a call away. Link to Camera SIM & APN Guide.

For NOMAD Pro deployments, the G150 adds an optional Iridium satellite module via RS-232. When the vehicle moves outside cellular coverage, tracking data doesn’t stop — it routes through Iridium automatically. No driver action required. No gaps in telemetry. Position data reaches the platform in real time regardless of where the vehicle is.

The G150 also carries driver ID across iButton. Driver behaviour monitoring. Accident and rollover detection. Remote immobilisation. GPS jamming detection. All of it fully operational internationally on the global SIM plan.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR OPERATIONS

No carrier lock-in. Ever.

The global SIM connects to the strongest available MNO at each location — automatically. In regions with multiple competing operators, it always picks the best signal. No forced steering. No dead zones from a carrier preference built for someone else’s market.

One platform. Every country.

All tracking data feeds back into your existing Digicore portal. The same geofences, alerts, reports, and dashboards your team uses today — live from day one in any covered region. No additional configuration. No retraining. No new logins.

Built for where coverage ends.

4G Cat 1bis, LTE-M, NB-IoT, and 2G fallback keep assets visible even where infrastructure hasn’t caught up. Flash memory on both the Oyster Global (29+ days) and Manta Fusion means nothing is lost when a device moves through a dead zone.

Ready before it leaves the country.

We configure every device for international use before dispatch — APN settings included. No field troubleshooting. No waiting for connectivity to resolve on site. Devices arrive ready to activate.

Scales with your programme.

Start with a pilot fleet for a feasibility study. Scale to a full international programme as the project grows. No lock-in contracts. Hardware ownership stays with the client. The subscription adapts to your scope — not the other way around.

A word on deployment planning
Most deployments connect immediately. We still recommend confirming your target region against the coverage zones above and running a field validation before full commercial rollout. For Global Extended (Latin America) deployments especially — validate your operating footprint before procurement. We will walk you through it.
