Ensuring Our Clients’ Success: Recent Insights from our Installation Trip August 2023

The Importance of Installation Guides:

Recently, during our installation trip, we realized the importance of updating our installation guides. When it comes to locations with rugged terrains, especially on rough or dirt roads with corrugation, securing the units is essential. We have always believed in continuous improvement, and based on our recent insights, we emphasize that merely zip tying the unit to a loose wiring loom under the dash isn’t adequate.

Our commitment is to make installations as smooth and user-friendly as possible. To ensure our clients have the necessary information right at their fingertips, we’re considering shipping a printed copy of the installation guide with the units. Alternatively, we’re looking at adding a QR code in the package that leads to our comprehensive guide. Our main goal is to prevent any mishaps and to maintain the integrity of our units, ensuring their long-term performance.

Feedback from the Ground – Understanding Driver Concerns:

During our recent trip, we engaged with several drivers who shared their thoughts about our tech installations. We understand and respect the concerns about privacy and digital rights. Some feedback was light-hearted and humorous, reflecting the camaraderie and spirit of the drivers. We appreciate all forms of feedback, as it gives us a clearer picture of the sentiments on the ground and helps us improve.

It’s crucial for our stakeholders to understand that we prioritize both driver comfort and safety. Our technology’s intent is not to invade privacy but to ensure that the safety of everyone on the road is maintained.

Highlight of the Trip:

An interesting observation from our recent installations was how swiftly the technology can pick up distractions. Just a day after installing a camera in one of the vehicles, we detected a valid cellphone distraction. It goes on to prove the efficiency and necessity of our tech in the modern, fast-paced world.

In Conclusion:

We’re constantly learning, adapting, and striving to serve our clients better. The feedback and insights from this trip have been invaluable. We’re dedicated to refining our processes and ensuring that our tech solutions remain top-notch for all our clients. We value the trust placed in us and aim to offer nothing but the best.

Ensuring a smooth and efficient installation process for our clients is always our top priority. Drawing from our most recent experiences on the field, here are the top 5 tips to make your installation seamless and effective:

Tip 1 – Firm and Steady Wins the Race:

It’s crucial to secure the unit firmly to the vehicle to prevent any unnecessary movement or jostling, especially on challenging terrains like dirt roads. We recommend following our comprehensive step-by-step guide to ensure stability and longevity of the unit.

Tip 2 – The Right Plug for the Right Job:

Attention to detail is key. Make sure to plug the correct accessory into its designated socket on the IVMS unit. We’ve come across instances where the Iridium was connected to the camera socket and vice versa. Though this won’t cause damage, it prevents the accessories from working as designed.

Tip 3 – Harnessing the Seatbelt Sensor:

If, for some reason, the supplied Digicore seatbelt sensor isn’t suitable, most vehicles allow direct tapping from the seatbelt buckle switch. If you opt for this, let us know so we can make necessary unit parameter adjustments. For your reference, the pink wire in the seatbelt loom is the signal wire. The red and black wires can be excluded in this setup.

Tip 4 – OBD Splitter Loom Alternative:

If the OBD splitter loom doesn’t fit the bill, don’t fret. It’s possible to cut it off and hardwire the unit directly to the vehicle. Inside the loom, you’ll find two wires: red (positive) and black (negative). Use them appropriately.

Tip 5 – Smart Placement for GPS Antenna:

Though our IVMS units come equipped with a highly sensitive GPS antenna, common sense plays a pivotal role in placement. Avoid positioning the unit under large metal objects or encased in a metal box. Ideally, places like under the dashboard or the seat work best, provided it’s not shrouded in additional casing.

Remember, with the right tips and guidance, installation can be a breeze. As always, our support team is just a call away to assist you. We’re here to ensure you get the best out of our tech solutions!
